Not ashamed that I both watched and laughed at Step Brothers on PPV

I’m a sucker for illustration and visual diagrams, so the nostalgia tucked into it makes for a great piece.  Wish they made a poster  I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

The jury is still out, but the trend is in to use “Twitter-like” functionality to keep your workmates and bosses updated on even the most granular project details.  It would seem there will always be an importance to report project status and progress to PMs and Business Leaders, but I think that micro-blogging is a fantastic way to keep those who need to know what you’re up to.  It also creates a certain sense of ownership and accountability.  In the case of virtual collaboration, where I can’t just walk over to your cubicle, this could be the way to augment “watercooler” discussions.  I’ll be interested to see how the enterprise handles this trend.

Here’s a clip of me mixing with my Torq Dj set up. This demonstrates all the disciplines involved with mixing. It requires careful listening, a sharp eye for the breakdowns and bridges in tracks and it’s very tactile when you’re tweaking EQ knobs and cross faders. I captured this so that you could watch mixing in action and also hear what it’s like from the DJ’s point of view. You can hear the individual tracks being cued and overlaid over top of each other. The tracks are from Terry Lee Brown Jr.’s Soft Pack.
